National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders,NAGAFF, has appealed to the Lagos State Government and the State Police Command to beef up security around the Tin-Can Island Port to save maritime workers from incessant robbery attacks.

Spokesman of NAGAFF, Tin Can Island Chapter, Godson Chukwu, said many maritime workers had been victims of robbery attacks in recent times and urged the police authorities to beef up security around the area.

He cited the Coconut Bridge at Tin-Can Island as one of the flashpoints where several freight forwarders had recently been robbed on their way to work.

Operators are calling on both the Lagos State Government and the Commissioner of Police to protect lives and properties of people in the area, urging the police to deploy more personnel to patrol the area in order to completely rid it of hoodlums.
