The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Flutterwave CEO and Founder, Olugbenga Agboola, as its National Youth Ambassador.

IGP Olatunji Disu presented the appointment at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, as part of the International Youth Day 2026 – National Youth Security, Peacebuilding and Empowerment Initiative.

The IGP said the honour recognises Agboola’s impact in technology entrepreneurship and his role in scaling Flutterwave into a leading African fintech that has advanced innovation, financial inclusion and responsible enterprise.

He said the initiative seeks to harness positive youth leadership to promote peacebuilding, cybersecurity awareness, entrepreneurship and constructive civic engagement, while discouraging cybercrime and other social vices.

IGP Disu stated that partnering with young Nigerians is key to safer communities and responsible citizenship.

He also emphasised building the digital capacity of young Police officers through training in emerging technologies, cyber investigations and digital forensics to strengthen the Force’s response to technology-enabled crime.

Disu charged the new Ambassador to use his platform to motivate youth to embrace lawful opportunities, integrity and innovation for national development.

Agboola accepted the appointment and thanked the IGP, pledging to advance the initiative’s objectives in youth empowerment, cybersecurity awareness and entrepreneurship.

He was joined by members of the Flutterwave and Stanel Group delegation, including Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, Hajia Risikatu Ahmed, Olufunmilayo Olaniyi and other executives.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to strategic collaborations that drive youth empowerment, technological innovation and cybersecurity, as it continues to engage young Nigerians as partners in building safer communities.
