Nigerian afro-house singer, vocalist, songwriter, and stage performer, Niniola Apata, widely known as Afro-House Queen, has announced plans to release a new EP titled ‘Without You’ on Friday, 21st August.

The Grammy-nominated artist says the project is a tribute to her late husband, Michael, whom she lost three months ago.

In an Instagram post announcing the EP, Niniola reflected on the impact of his absence and said the date was one she could not let pass quietly.

She described the body of work as music born of love and loss, created during a difficult period.

According to her, the EP carries stories and emotions that could not be fully expressed in words alone.

Niniola stated that the project is dedicated to Michael, to herself, and to anyone who has had to find the strength to keep going after loss.

She wrote, “Three months without you, Michael. Hmmmm…. Where do I begin? Some dates are impossible to simply pass.

“Today, I remember you not only for the space you left behind, but for the love, memories, music, and the life we shared together.

“Without You” is a tribute born out of that love and the loss. Music created from the hardest place, carrying stories that words alone could never fully tell.

“Today, I remember! On Friday the 21st of August, I share “Without You”, the EP, with the world. For Michael, for Niniola. For everyone who has ever had to find a way to keep going”.

Apata, 39, rose to prominence after finishing as a top contestant on Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music exports.

Her 2017 single, Maradona, earned international acclaim, drawing collaborations and recognition from artists including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland, and Beyoncé.
