The All Progressives Congress has set up the National Campaign Council and several sub-committees to coordinate all elections in 2027, and 15th August governorship election in Osun State.

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma was appointed as chairman of the campaign council, as the party said the move is to coordinate its nationwide campaign structure, as well as mobilise support for its Osun State candidate.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the campaign council was constituted through a notice signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

Osun State is one of the states expected to hold off-cycle governorship elections this year.

The APC statement read partly, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the composition of its National Campaign Council and its Sub-Committees for the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, 15 August, 2026.

“As contained in a Notice signed by the Party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D., BL, the National Campaign Council is chaired by H.E. Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.

“The Council has H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Governor of Yobe State; H.E. Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, President of the Senate; and Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON, Speaker of the House of Representatives, as Co-Chairmen. Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, serves as Deputy Chairman, while Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CON, Deputy President of the Senate, is the Secretary of the Council.”

The party said the council comprises governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers and other stakeholders drawn from across the country.

The APC added that it had also established specialised sub-committees to oversee key aspects of campaigns, including election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement, logistics, monitoring and compliance, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with

The statement further read, “To ensure seamless coordination and effective execution of campaign activities, the Party has also constituted specialised sub-committees covering Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Contact, Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Monitoring and Compliance; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Youth Mobilisation; Special Interest (Persons with Disabilities) Mobilisation; Women’s Mobilisation; and Secretariat functions.”

The ruling party disclosed that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees would be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
