The Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces & Other Security Agencies (PASNAFOSA) has commended the Nigeria Police Force for its vigilance, professionalism, and operational effectiveness, particularly in relation to the recent interception of a truckload containing military camouflage, firearms, and illicit substances in Lagos State.
The Group extends its warm commendation to the Lagos State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, for the successful execution of this operation.
PASNAFOSA notes that the recovery and public display of the seized items, including thousands of military camouflage uniforms, assorted firearms, and prohibited substances demonstrate the Command’s strong commitment to combating crime and protecting national security.
In the same vein, PASNAFOSA applauds the Command for the apprehension of thirty-eight (38) foreign nationals in Epe area of the State, whose mission in Nigeria could not be satisfactorily established.
The arrest reflects the proactive posture of the Nigeria Police in identifying and neutralising potential threats before they manifest into security breaches capable of endangering lives and undermining public safety.
The Group further commends the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, for providing purposeful and inspiring leadership that continues to translate into notable operational successes across the country.
The achievements are particularly commendable in view of the prevailing security challenges confronting the nation and the strategic importance of Lagos as Nigeria’s commercial and economic nerve centre.
PASNAFOSA describes the operation as a clear demonstration of the vigilance, professionalism, and commitment of the Nigeria Police Force in the ongoing fight against crime and insecurity.
The Group also commends the courage, resilience, and dedication of officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies who continue to make immense sacrifices in the service of the nation, often under difficult and life-threatening conditions.
The organisation reaffirms its commitment to continually pray for divine wisdom, strength, protection, and grace for the nation’s uniformed personnel, expressing confidence that their steadfast efforts will result in greater victories against criminality and contribute significantly to the restoration of lasting peace and security across the country.
PASNAFOSA further calls on security agencies across the country to intensify efforts toward securing the immediate release of schoolchildren and teachers who remain in captivity, noting that every day spent in the hands of abductors deepens the anguish of affected families and represents a painful wound on the conscience of the nation.
While acknowledging the enormous challenges confronting security operatives, the Group urges Nigerians to support and encourage the nation’s security personnel rather than resort to blanket condemnation.
The gallant men and women remain on the frontlines day and night, often separated from their families and loved ones, making tremendous sacrifices to safeguard lives, protect communities, and preserve the peace and stability of the nation.
PSNAFSA therefore called on citizens to continue providing useful information and cooperation to security agencies, stressing that the responsibility of securing Nigeria requires a collective effort between the security services and the public.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Convener of Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces & Other Security Agencies, PASNAFOSA, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile.
