The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the police to improve security across the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says his administration would continue supporting security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.

Sanwo-Olu stresses that security remained vital to Lagos’ economic growth, investment drive and social stability.

He describes Lagos as one of Nigeria’s safest states and praised police efforts towards maintaining peace.

According to him, the State Government takes security matters with utmost seriousness because residents’ safety remains its top priority.

Sanwo-Olu pledges continued cooperation with the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and other security agencies.

In his words, they will continue to improve security architecture and make Lagos safer and more liveable for all residents.

He appreciated the police leadership for its support in keeping Lagos secure for businesses and communities.

The Governor spoke through
his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, while recieving the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, South-West, Adegoke Fayoade, at Lagos House, Ikeja.

Earlier, Fayoade, who is the DIG in charge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), said the visit aligned with the Inspector-General of Police’s policy direction on operational effectiveness.

He said the police aimed to strengthen crime-fighting strategies across the South-West region through improved coordination.

Adegoke noted that intelligence-led policing and strategic partnerships remained essential in tackling security challenges.

He said the purpose is to strengthen operational readiness, review crime-fighting strategies and enhance Lagos Police Command efficiency.

Fayoade commended the state government for its financial and logistics support to security operations, saying they are grateful for the consistent support, which has contributed significantly to effective policing and crime prevention.

The DIG called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders, especially in technology and intelligence gathering.

According to him, there is a need for greater partnership to ensure a proactive and pragmatic approach to criminal activities.

He expressed confidence that sustained cooperation would further enhance public safety in Lagos.

The DIG said improved coordination between the police and government would strengthen security outcomes across the state.
