The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai has emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration in strengthening democracy, maintaining public confidence in the electoral system, and ensuring peaceful electoral processes.

CP Fatai said this when he received officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.

He appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the readiness of the Command to provide adequate security support and respond positively to all lawful requests by INEC in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.

The INEC delegation led by the Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Prof. Abayomi Salami, congratulated the CP on his appointment.

He sought the continued collaboration and support of the Command as preparations towards the 2027 General Elections gather momentum, with the aim of ensuring peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections in the State.
