
The new Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has pledged to maintain zero tolerance for abuse of office, indiscipline, incivility towards members of the public, violations of human rights, and corruption.


CP Ojajuni made the vow during his maiden news briefing at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Ojajuni emphasised that discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force and assured that his administration will be guided by the principles of professionalism, respect for human dignity, and strict adherence to the rule of law.


CP. Ojajuni emphasised that the Ogun Police under his leadership would strictly align with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu.
According to him, the citizens are our bosses, stressing that this principle would guide all policing activities across the state.


He reiterated that abuse of office, human rights violations, corruption, and incivility would not be tolerated, noting that discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force
He urged officers and men to treat members of the public with dignity, courtesy, and respect, while also encouraging the public to engage with the police with civility and mutual respect.
The Commissioner highlighted the importance of collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, the media, and other security agencies to ensure the peace and security of Ogun State.
Ojajuni assured that his administration will be inclusive and that stakeholders will be given a sense of belonging.
CP Ojajuni also announced the establishment of a robust administrative machinery to monitor officers and men, with the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) serving as a key channel for reporting misconduct.
The CRU is accessible via telephone, social media platforms, and WhatsApp.
The Commissioner highlighted key mechanisms put in place to ensure transparency and accountability, including the Complaint Response Unit, CRU, which he described as a vital channel for reporting police misconduct.
He noted that the CRU is accessible via telephone and social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
CP Ojajuni further disclosed that the Gateway Shield App and the Command’s Control Room would operate around-the-clock to receive complaints and intelligence from the public in real time.
To strengthen internal discipline, he said the X-Squad and Police Monitoring Unit would be fully deployed, warning that “there will be no safe haven for misconduct.”
He added that the few bad eggs in the Force would not be allowed to tarnish its image, urging residents to report any wrongdoing promptly.
Reaffirming his commitment to securing lives and property, CP Ojajuni assured residents that the Ogun Police would adopt proactive strategies to guarantee safety across the state.
He called for mutual respect between officers and the public, stating that effective policing requires cooperation and trust.
“My administration will be inclusive. We will work closely with traditional rulers, community leaders, the media, and other security agencies,” he said.
The Commissioner also pledged to prioritise the welfare of officers, urging them to embrace discipline, unity, and renewed dedication to duty.
CP Ojajuni assured the people of Ogun State of “unrelenting service” in sustaining peace and ensuring a secure environment.
With over 30 years of distinguished service, CP Ojajuni brings a wealth of experience in operational, investigative, and administrative policing to the Command.
A native of Ondo State, CP Ojajuni is a seasoned police officer with a strong track record of professionalism, integrity, and community-oriented policing.
He has served in various capacities, including as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL (Nigeria National Central Bureau), Lagos, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ogun State.
CP Ojajuni’s expertise extends to international policing, having represented Nigeria at the ECOWAS Security Summit and the INTERPOL General Assembly.
He is a member of the INTERPOL African Committee and has facilitated the repatriation of high-profile fugitives to several countries.
