Leicester City has appealed against a decision to deduct them six points for breaching English Football League financial rules.
The sanction was imposed on the Foxes by an independent commission earlier this month and saw them drop to 20th in the Championship, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
Two successive defeats since have led to them dropping into the bottom three, two points from safety.
The Premier League, who initially charged Leicester with breaching profit and sustainability rules in the three years up to 2023-24 in May, have also lodged their own appeal against the commission’s decision not to sanction the club for late submission of their annual accounts.

Postecoglou has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October and has been linked with a return to Celtic in the summer as the Premiership champions search for their next permanent manager.
He talked about his time as Celtic manager in positive terms, saying he loved the passion of the fans.
Postecoglou also described the city rivalry with Rangers and shared memories of his first season in charge, when the club won the Premiership and League Cup.

The Abia State Government instead engaged the services of Cameroon-born Emmanuel Deutsch as Enyimba Technical Adviser and Daniel Eke as Sporting Director.
Adepoju expressed surprise at the recent developments within the People’s Elephant camp, maintaining that in a proper football management structure, the club’s hierarchy was responsible for appointing a coach and Sporting Director, subject to government approval.

The Nigeria Women’s Football League has fined Osun Babes two point five million pounds after regulatory breaches led to the abandonment of their 2025/2026 Premiership fixture against FC Robo Queens in Lagos.
The match, scheduled for Wednesday, 18th February, at Onikan Stadium, failed to commence after Osun Babes, listed as the away side, did not provide an alternative kit with clearly displayed names and numbers despite a confirmed colour clash with the home team.
With no compliant change strip available, match officials awarded a walkover to Robo Queens in accordance with league rules.
Following a review, the league ruled that the club’s actions violated Article 10.3 of its regulatory framework, which compels visiting teams to adopt their second-choice colours where necessary to avoid clashes.

In Cricket, Pakistan cricketers are not being considered by Indian-owned sides for next month’s Hundred auction.
Players from Pakistan have not featured in the Indian Premier League since 2009 because of diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
Four of The Hundred’s eight franchises Manchester Super Giants, MI London, Southern Brave and Sunrisers Leeds are now at least part-owned by companies that control IPL teams.
A senior official from the England and Wales Cricket Board indicated to an agent that interest in his Pakistan players would be limited to sides not linked to the IPL.
Another agent described the situation as an unwritten rule across T20 leagues with Indian investment.
ECB chief executive Richard Gould said last year he expected players from all nations to be selected for all teams in The Hundred and warned clear anti-discrimination policies were in place.

Munster’s Crowley will partner Jamison Gibson-Park in a changed half-back pairing as Craig Casey drops to the bench.
