President Bola Tinubu has approved the constitution of Nigeria’s delegation to the US-Nigeria Joint Working Group.

The joint working group is a bilateral platform designed to strengthen cooperation in addressing security challenges.

The decision follows agreements reached during a recent high-level visit to Washington, D.C., led by National Security Adviser(NSA) Nuhu Ribadu.

Ribadu will head the Nigerian side of the group, supported by senior officials across key ministries and agencies, while, the secretariat will be coordinated by Idayat Hassan of the Office of the NSA and Paul Alabi of Nigeria’s Embassy in the United States.

Other members include Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Humanitarian Affairs Minister Bernard M. Doro, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, National Intelligence Agency Director-General Amb. Mohammed Mohammed, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

President Tinubu urged the team to collaborate closely with their American counterparts to ensure effective implementation of agreements across multiple sectors.
