The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced that it will conduct a Crisis Response Simulation Exercise on Thursday, 18th September, 2025, in Abuja.

It says the exercise will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and is coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, a Superintendent of Police in a statement said the drill is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency preparedness and emergency response in the country.

In November 2024, the Nigeria Police Force has announced a similar crisis response training that took place around the Idu train station between 9am and 2pm.

In her statement, the FCT Command PPRO advised the public not to panic over the expected heavy security presence and traffic diversions around the venue.

The Command stressed that the activity is purely a drill and poses no cause for alarm.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command wishes to inform members of the public, particularly residents of Abuja, that a Crisis Response Simulation Exercise will take place on Thursday, 18th September 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The exercise, which is being coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency preparedness and response to emergency situations in Nigeria.

During the exercise, there will be heavy security presence in and around the venue, alongside controlled traffic diversions.

The public are therefore urged not to panic, as the activity is purely a drill and poses no cause for alarm,” the statement partly read.

She further urged Abuja residents to cooperate with security personnel and comply with traffic advisories during the exercise, while appreciating their understanding and support in ensuring the safety of the FCT

“The Command appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all residents as we continue to work together in ensuring the safety and security of the Federal Capital Territory,” Adeh said.
