On the second day of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, 2025 National Convention in Redemption City, over ten thousand three hundred Deacons and Deaconesses have been ordained.

The ceremony, which was supervised by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, was held at the three-million-seater auditorium of the Redemption City, at Mowe on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

While the deacons and deaconesses were ordained by the laying of hands, the assistant pastors were ordained by the laying of hands and anointed with oil were over five thousand.

In a short ordination sermon, Pastor Adeboye congratulated and advised the newly ordained clerics to go out and enforce the jubilee that Christ made available to all men, through prayers and continuous preaching of the gospel.

The plenary session, which usually headlines each day of the Convention, kicked off around 7 pm with prayers, followed by songs of praise from the sophisticated band of the church with modern musical instruments and the Mass Choir.
The third day of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s (RCCG) 73rd Annual Convention echoed with a powerful message of personal transformation as the General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, delivered a sermon titled “Overcome Yourself.”
Drawing from Proverbs 16:32, Pastor Adeboye emphasised that the greatest battle any believer must fight is the battle against personal weaknesses.
He outlined a five-point strategy to becoming a permanent overcomer, urging Christians to master their senses, actions, and desires.
He advised believers to be mindful of what they hear, see, say, do, and where they go: “Train your ears, because faith comes by hearing the word of God. Fear also comes through what you hear. It’s not how much you listen, but how well you listen,” he said, adding that news media often highlight negative reports, whereas the Gospel is the true Good News.
On vision, he stated: “Victory doesn’t depend solely on what you see but on how you see it. Are you looking at the mountain, or at the One who existed before the mountain? What you see determines how far you will go.”
He then cautioned believers on the power of speech: “What you say is what you will have. Your mouth exposes your faith. Stop complaining–praise God instead. Use your words to declare His will and to cast out demons.”
Addressing actions, Pastor Adeboye likened the hands to powerful tools for warfare, warning against using them for sinful purposes: “Don’t sign false reports, don’t forge documents, and don’t touch anything unclean. Keep your hands clean and God will fight for you.”
He concluded with a strong admonition on confronting personal weaknesses, using the biblical examples of Moses and Solomon.
“If you want to be a champion forever, do something about your weak point,” he said. “Moses was mightily used by God but his anger cost him the Promised Land. Solomon, loved by God and blessed with wisdom, ended his life declaring everything vanity.”
“Life is not a joke. This spiritual warfare is serious business,” he added.
Earlier in the evening, Pastor Adeboye shared that 50 babies–34 boys and 16 girls–had been born at the church’s maternity centre since the convention began. The announcement sparked joy and applause from the congregation.
Fifty babies were delivered at the Redemption Camp as the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) continued its 73rd Annual Convention, with General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye delivering a sermon that called on believers to confront their inner struggles and discipline their lives to remain victorious in the Christian faith.
The milestone was announced by Pastor Adeboye during the third day of the week-long convention, drawing cheers from thousands of attendees.
According to him, the church’s maternity centre recorded the birth of 50 babies—34 boys and 16 girls—since the event began, further underscoring the symbolic theme of new beginnings and spiritual rebirth.
In a sermon titled “Overcome Yourself,” Pastor Adeboye drew his message from Proverbs 16:32, declaring that the greatest battle a Christian must fight is the battle against self.
He warned that without victory over personal weaknesses, believers risk derailing their spiritual journey regardless of how far they may have come.
“It is better to be slow to anger than to be mighty,” he said. “The one who rules his spirit is greater than he who takes a city. If you want to be a champion forever, do something about your weak point.”
Highlighting examples from the Bible, he pointed to the lives of Moses and Solomon as cautionary tales.
“Moses was greatly used by God, but his anger robbed him of the Promised Land. Solomon, who was beloved and wise, ended up calling everything vanity. Why? He failed to deal with his weakness,” he said.
Pastor Adeboye laid out a five-part blueprint for self-mastery, urging Christians to guard their senses, words, actions, and movements. He encouraged the congregation to filter what they hear, especially from news media.
On the importance of vision, he warned believers against being overwhelmed by visible challenges. “Are you looking at the mountain or the One who created the mountain? What you see and how you see it determines how far you’ll go.”
Addressing the power of speech, Adeboye said: “Your mouth reveals your faith. What you say is what you will have. Stop complaining—praise God instead. Use your words to declare His will and cast out demons.”
He also urged believers to sanctify their actions and keep their hands from wrongdoing. “Don’t sign false reports. Don’t forge documents. Don’t touch anything unclean. Keep your hands clean and God will fight your battles,” he admonished.
Pastor Adeboye concluded with a warning that the Christian journey is a serious, lifelong spiritual war that demands vigilance and introspection. “Life is not a joke,” he said. “This is not play. This is serious warfare.”
The RCCG convention, themed “The Overcomers,” has drawn tens of thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria and around the world.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on Monday kicked off its 73rd Annual Convention with the graduation of 6,760 students from the Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC), marking another milestone in the church’s commitment to manpower development and theological education.
The Bible College, which is one of RCCG’s key training arms, conferred certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees on students who had undergone various theological and ministry training programs.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the Provost of RCBC, Pastor Alabi Oti, said the institution has remained committed to excellence in theological education and leadership development, both in Nigeria and internationally.
“In the 2024/2025 academic year at RCBC, we thank God for the opportunity to graduate a total of 6,760 students. Amidst the challenges in Nigeria and the world, God gave us a bountiful harvest,” he said.
Pastor Oti also praised the leadership of RCCG and acknowledged the guidance of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer, for stabilizing and steering the institution through another successful academic cycle.
He revealed that RCBC’s affiliations with Redeemer’s University and the University of Ibadan remain intact, particularly noting the Diploma in Youth Ministry programme with Redeemer’s University. This programme, he said, is equipping a new generation of youth leaders, including 13 youth provincial leaders graduating this year.
He urged the RCCG Youth and Young Adult ministries to consider making the Diploma in Youth Ministry a requirement for all youth pastors in the church.
In his remarks and fatherly blessing to the graduates, Pastor E.A. Adeboye prayed for divine support and guidance as they step into their respective callings.
“The Almighty God who has helped you thus far will not abandon you. You will not leave here with just certificates but with God’s anointing, backing, and support. You will not fail Him, nor will you disappoint yourselves,” he declared.
The graduation ceremony also featured a message titled ‘Every Knee Must Bow’ delivered by Pastor Charles Achonwa of Doulous Ministries. He reminded the congregation that all creation exists for God’s pleasure and glory, urging everyone to honour and appreciate God in their lives and ministries.
This graduation marks a significant beginning to RCCG’s 2025 convention, which has drawn thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria and beyond to the Redemption City, Ogun State.
