The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has assured residents of the state of adequate security on the Third Mainland Bridge and other major roads.
Fayoade said the reassurance became necessary in view of publication about the absence of police operatives on the Third Mainland Bridge and other roads in the state.
He noted with concern claims of police absence or connivance with criminal elements on the roads.
Fayoade, urged motorists and other residents not to entertain fear as all the black spots were heavily policed.
He confirmed that police officers in both patrol cars and bikes are deployed to the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic locations round-the-clock.
According to him, Commuters are encouraged to take advantage of their static and roving presence at the locations.
He equally enjoined all to promptly inform the police of any suspicious or criminal activity, especially emergencies, on 09168631001, 09168631002, 09168631003, 09168631004, 08065154338 and 08063299264 to enable appropriate action.
The Police Boss also assured visitors that their security would continue to be prioritised at all times.
His comment is contained in a statement made available by Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
The statement confirmed that operatives of Lagos State Police Command have arrested and detained a 25-year-old woman for allegedly diverting N3million belonging to a company into her personal account.
Hundeyin alleged that the suspect (name withheld)and her other co-workers in a catering company ,conspired and diverted money realised from the sale of the company’s products into their personal accounts.
He said the suspects only remitted a fraction of the money to the company’s account.
“Over N3 million has so far been traced to the detained suspect’s account.
“She is in detention under a remand warrant. Investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin said
