The District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 404B3 Nigeria, Dr Ibrahim Jide Bello, has reiterated his commitment to help in building a sustainable food security for the people.

Dr Bello disclosed this in Lagos during his public presentation as the district governor lions club 404B3 2024-2025 service year.

He said he also intends to focus more on disaster control and extend hands of humanity to the needy, saying constructions of a “Food Court” to relieve hunger is in offine, saying the Food court will not only provide a healthy meal but will also become an icon of hope and care, aim to reach 5,000 people

Bello said the food court is part of their
initiative geared towards alleviation of hunger, saying in a world where abundance often contrasts with scarcity, it is our moral duty to ensure no one in our communities goes hungry.

According to him, supporting childhood cancer treatment, is another global cause that touches the heart, saying the fight against the disease is a sober reminder of life’s fragility and the human spirit’s fortitude.

In his words; we shall devote considerable efforts in combating and reliving children suffering from cancer by providing medical help, supporting awareness programs, and reaching out for emotional Support in their hour of need, saying we will stand with them and show them that they do not stand alone in their fight.

According to him, distributing eyeglasses, aims to reach an additional three thousand people this year will be his priority, saying training the youth to attain leadership positions will be undertaken.

“We are reminded that every act of kindness and compassion leaves a lasting impression. We are called to breathe life into our service, staying proactive, bringing our vision to life, and focusing on positive outcomes,” he stated.

Dr. Bello assured Lions and guests present that he would work tirelessly to extend the District services to more communities in need.

He emphasised the importance of recruiting new members, particularly the youth and senior citizens, while retaining current members through engaging and impactful initiatives.

He reiterated the club’s commitment to building strong corporate partnerships with local and international organisations to amplify its resources and extend its reach.

He also said the District will provide training and development opportunities to ensure members are equipped to lead with confidence and competence.

Bello said as the District Govermor, he pledge to lead the district in growth, inclusivity, and impactful service, urging lions to begin the journey with key initiatives that make up those very pillars in our commitment to serving humanity.

According to him, today, we open a new chapter, guided by this year’s theme of ” Serving Humanity , saying this is not just
a catchphrase but an appeal to every single one of us to come forth and be different.

In his words, he reminds us that as Lions, our purpose is to serve with compassion: helping those trampled down to their feet again and being a light unto their path.

He thanked the distinguished guests and community leaders who graced the presentation with their presence, saying their support and partnership are immeasurably important for them to leave their mark.

According to him, the milestone should stand for what we collectively stand for in service, dedication towards this, and inexhaustible commitment towards
betterment in humanity.

In his words; I ponder how thousands of devoted souls agreed in unison to run
single vision: a world where compassion and kindness would transcend everything.

He appreciated all Lions for their trust and faith, saying their commitment to the cause is an inspiration to all, and it is from their passion and energy that the organisation shines bright in the worid.

On her part, the International Director For Africa Bridget Tychus emphasised the need to inculcate in the next generation of leaders the entrepreneur skills and not be left to the government alone but must commence in earnest.

The immediate past district governor Lion Otunba Olayiwola Fadairo, emphasised the need to give the youths more entrepreneurial skills that will make them self-employed.
