The Lagos State Government says it will inaugurate its online tax platform known as Lagos Revenue Portal on 15th August.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Abdul-Kabir Ogungbo, announced this at a news briefing at Lagos Revenue House, Alausa.

Ogungbo disclosed that the online tax platform would be inaugurated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to Ogungbo, the online platform was designed to simplify, make efficient, convenient and secured, the process of tax payment by individual resident and corporate bodies.

He said the portal was also part of government’s drive to improve the quality of life for Lagos residents.

According to him, this innovation is designed to simplify how Lagos residents and corporate entities perform their civic responsibilities in form of tax payment, making the entire process more efficient, convenient and secure.

In his words; as earlier established, the e-tax platform for all tax payments managed by the Lagos Internal Revenue Service, is another milestone.

Ogungbo stated that it represents a significant leap towards modernising our revenue collection system, adding that it will streamline our collection process into a more-friendly and accessible self-service portal.

He pointed out that Lagos Revenue Portal will aggregates all Lagos State bills and payments across ministries, departments and agencies in the state, making it one stop shop for all taxpayers.

Ogungbo said the portal will allowed residents to manage and print their bills and make payments online through multiple available channels (card, bank transfer, POS, USSD, QR Code etc) from anywhere.

He said some of the advantages of the portal included; instant revenue receipt after payment, amendment and reversal request of payment and comprehensive view of payment history.

The Special Adviser said this one-stop-shop provides residents with timely support and promotes ease-of-doing-business within the state, therefore, enhancing their overall experience.
