Music stars such as Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Sir Shina Akanni, Sule Alao Malaika, Wasiu Haruna Ishola, Aweni Oniwaka, Abideen Yusuf Olatunji and a host of others have shined at the 2024 Radio Lagos Amititi Day.

The array of stars all on the same bandstand took turn to celebrate the radio house and entertain their diverse fans, from noon till late in the night.

The 2024 event was a huge success, by all indications, as the people present enjoyed themselves to the fullest on Sunday, 28th July, 2024 the D-day for the much-awaited 2024 edition of the popular Radio Lagos Amititi Day, held annually since 2016, with the exception of 2020 due to covid restrictions and 2023 due to other engagements.

Amititi Day, in celebration of a vital stakeholder-triangle in radio broadcasting, comprising the radio station, music artistes and radio audience, who invariably double as fans of both the station and various artistes respectively, was a show lacking nothing for an event expected from a media house of Radio Lagos calibre, as it ticked all the boxes and lived up to its billing.

As a long established and equally incontrovertible fact till date, Radio Lagos 107.5 FM, for the umpteenth time, asserted itself as the leading and trail-blazing Yoruba language radio station in the Lagos-Ogun axis, re emphasising that the original Tiwa N’tiwa radio house has come a long way dictating the pace in its sector; and is not resting on its oars, nor is it likely to be displaced anytime soon or in the future.

In a chat with a cross-section of the attendees, they all expressed their excitement and satisfaction with the event line-up and organisation, even as they looked forward to more events from the radio station in due course.

General Manager of the station, Olajide Lawal said the annual celebration was the station’s way of giving back to the community while showcasing its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating essential items to the less privileged and treating its listeners to the best of Indigenous music.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Amititi Day planning committee, who is also the Director, Marketing, Radio Lagos/Eko FM Kayode Adumadeyin expressed his joy, while thanking God that everything went well despite minor itches, which could occur in any human endeavour.

Adumadeyin was full of praises for all the artistes who performed, even as he expressed his confidence that more A-list acts would have shown up but they were not in the country and he used the opportunity to wish them well.

He seized the moment as well to thank all the fans of Radio Lagos who turned up, while also expressing his gratitude to all the organisations that supported the event either with their equipment, expertise, products or services; particularly RC Cola who treated people to free drinks, Ria Entertainment who provided stage and musical instruments and Alla-Dave Lighting Enterprises who assisted with sophisticated lighting that made the show colorful.
