Ahead of the planned nationwide protest, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun says security agencies will under no circumstances, allow a repeat of 2020 Endsars where lives and properties were lost.
IGP Egbetokun disclosed this at a meeting with heads of paramilitary agencies.
Egbetokun reiterated the commitment and preparedness of the Nigeria Police Force to protect all peaceful protesters.
He said Security Personnel will be given body cameras which will be worn on the days of the protest, saying this is to ensure accountability on the part of the security agencies.
Egbetokun advised protesters to be peaceful in their demonstrations, to ensure protection from the police.
According to him, the rights of Nigerians can not be undermined but the country can not afford a repeat of the EndSARs protest.
The meeting which is currently holding behind closed doors is being attended by heads of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Correctional Services (NCS), and the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC).
