Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has called for unity and peace during the Ramadan.
Disu urged Muslims to uphold the tenets of Islam by exhibiting the fear of God and showing piety in their daily work.
He congratulated the Muslims for the successful completion of their Ramadan fast and wished all faithful a blissful Eid-el-Fitr.
Disu called on the good people of the State to use the period of the celebration for a sober reflection and to offer prayers for the peace and progress of the state and the nation at large.
He called on religious leaders, worshippers, and residents to cooperate with the police and other security agencies.
Disu assured residents that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to guarantee a hitch-free celebration and improve public safety.
The Police Boss directed all Area Commanders, Heads of Departments, and Divisional Police Officers to implement overt and covert security deployments throughout the State.
This is contained in a statement made available by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP. Grace Iringe-Koko.
