Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies, PNAFSA has commiserated with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for the loss of some Army personnel in Niger State.

According to PNAFSA, the gallantry of the heroes who paid the supreme price in the discharge of a committed duty to the unity and security of the country, Nigeria, can never be equated.

The Group in a statement by its Convener, Mary Abayomi-Fatile says with the evident reality of Nigeria being assailed in many fronts with a multiplicity of internal security, ranging from terrorism, armed banditry, separatists agitation among other violent crimes, the Nigerian Army in particular and the Military in general, have lived up to the expectation.

Abayomi-Fatile says in their determination to contend with the relentless hydra-headed monster of insecurity orchestrated by armed bandits in Niger State, the brave Army personnel had gone to attend to a distress call, only to be ambushed.

She said even in the face of death, they put up resilience and doggedness, and with the collaboration of some members of a vigilante group, they gunned down 50 violent non-state actors.

According to her, they took the bullets in delight, for the safety of defenseless Nigerians and died for what they knew and stood for.

Abayomi-Fatile said their hearts go out for members of their families who are devastated with the sad news and are left with no one to fill the vacuum created.

She said PSFNASA reemphasises on the need for all hands to be on deck in the battle against insecurity in Nigeria, saying though troops are determined to defend us from the enemies of the state, every patriotic Nigerian has a part to play in this regard. It should not be left for the Military or security agencies alone.
