The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), has commended the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for reappointing ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi as the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force.
Its President, Olalekan Olabulo, noted that the reappointment of ACP Adejobi will further strengthen the force and build upon past efforts to restore the image of the police in Nigeria.
The association’s statement read, “The executive and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) wish to commend the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for reappointing the newly-promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, as the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force.”
“For us in CRAN, ACP Adejobi has performed exceptionally well in improving the image of the Nigeria Police Force, both at the state level including Lagos and Ogun states, where he served as the spokesperson for the commands.”
The statement further expressed, “CRAN believes that his reappointment to continue as the image maker of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will undoubtedly lead to a stronger collaboration with the public and reinforce discipline among personnel of the force. This will also promote the principles of modern policing in a democratic setting.”
“The Inspector-General of Police has tasked Adejobi to build upon his accomplishments, particularly in promoting citizen-focused public relations through media and other specialized community engagements.
We are confident that with his experience, knowledge, and training, he has much to contribute to fostering a more amicable relationship between the police and the public.”
The association concluded by stating, “Once again, we commend the IGP and extend our congratulations to the reappointed Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. We urge him to continue giving his best in the service of our nation, Nigeria.”
