As part of efforts towards creating media publicity for its second annual lecture, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, has paid the Ministry of Information and Strategy a courtesy visit.

According to the Union, the annual lecture which is the second edition is billed for fifth August with the theme, “Delivering Quality Education Through Infrastructure Development”.

Its Lagos State Chapter Chairman, Comrade Akintoye Hassan said the event is themed to close the infrastructure gap in public education which is a tangible deliverable.

According to Hassan, as a program that will have political heavyweights and elite members of the society, they have come to liaise with the Ministry of Information and Strategy to get ideas and suggestions.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Olumide Sogunle remarked that the Ministry’s mandate is to positively project the image of Government and beyond, saying the Ministry would continue to showcase every activity of the Government including those of the Nigerian Union of Teachers.
Sogunle who spoke through Director, Strategy Centre, Kayode Oyekanmi said the ministry will continue to work with the union, and would help with media publicity as much as it is feasible and provide expert opinion and advice.
He added that NUT as a trade union of teachers is not only pivotal to the success of the present administration but key to the progress of the education sector of the entire State.
