Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has been arrested after a video surfaced of him allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Seun, the son of Afro beat legend, Fela on Monday surrendered himself to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Seun who was accompanied by his lawyer was arrested and detained.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest, saying Seun had been detained in accordance with the law.
Benjamin assured the public that justice would be served as investigation into the incident would be carried out transparently and professionally.
On Sunday, both the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba and the Police Service Commission ordered the immediate arrest of Seun Kuti who was captured on video assaulting a Police officer.
