The Nigeria Police Force has been identified and honoured by the Federal Character Commission at its maiden award ceremony held at Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, Nicon Luxury Hotel, Garki Abuja.

The commission’s honor is in recognition of police officers efforts in keeping the hope of the nation alive and encourage Police Officers who work restlessly day and night to promote the peace and unity amongst Nigeria’s diverse peoples of which the Federal Character principle stands for.

Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Muheeba Dankaka, while welcoming and appreciating the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, at the award ceremony, applauded the Police and other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, for their zeal to sustaining the oneness and peaceful coexistence of the peoples of Nigeria.

Baba, who received the award, commended the Commission for maintaining its core values and principles of bequeathing to Nigerians equal representation and a sense of belonging that are fundamental to togetherness.

IGP further reassured the public of a safer society that will constantly promote peace, tranquility, and peaceful coexistence amongst Nigerians.
