The Frontliners for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one of the foremost support groups for the realisation of the presidential aspiration of All Progressive Congress, APC, flag bearer in the 2023 presidential elections has knocked some media houses for allowing themselves to be beclouded by partisanship in their reports especially in the build up to the elections.
The group advised the media in the country to always adhere to the ethics of the noble profession of journalism on the need to always search for and uphold the truth in all circumstances and ensure fairness in their reporting.
It frowned at recent unwholesome behaviours of some media houses as reflected in obviously untrue and flawed stories calculated to damage the reputation of some politicians especially those in opposing camps.
Its Director General, Segun Ogunade singled out Arise TV, Channels Television and ThisDay Newspapers for their hatred for the politics, political aspiration and personality of Tinubu, as evidenced in the damaging falsehood and indecent haste to report negativity about Asiwaju without proper investigation and painstaking professional examination of facts that political reporting, especially, requires.

Ogunade noted with dismay that the resort to subtle campaign of calumny by the identified media houses against Asiwaju is portraying journalism in Nigeria as instruments of political falsehood peddling and weapon of professional brigandage against perceived political foes and most regrettably journalists as cash and carry bunch of irresponsible and reckless political tools.
He called on the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the Nigeria Press Council, and all other regulatory and advisory authorities, agencies and organisations responsible for upholding the tenets and ethics of the noble profession of journalism to wade in and arrest the descent into gutter journalism and clear unprofessionalism among some media houses.
He urged all the support associations canvassing for the victory of APC presidential candidate and his supporters and all well-meaning Nigerians to continue in their overwhelming support, continue to massively mobilise for Asiwaju, ensure they obtain their voters card and come February 2023, vote massively for the APC at the coming presidential election.
The group boss restated its confidence in the capability, exposure, intelligence and political sagacity of Asiwaju to turn around the fortune of Nigeria for good and lay solid foundation for national transformation for which every Nigerian will be proud.
