Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have busted a syndicate which specialised In manufacturing locally made guns, and other arms in Emuhu Community, Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.

The operatives cracked the syndicate following intelligence which premise that Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed All, detailed the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU),to carry out intensive raids in the said area.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe,”the team led by Commander SACU, SP Christopher Igbaji, on November 31, raided the hideout in Emuhu Community, Ika North-East Local Government Area, during which, 42 locally made single barrel guns, six double barrel guns, three pump action guns, two filing machines, and a tool box containing fabricated materials working tools were recovered.

He said the suspected ring leader, Peter Okolie, 58, and nine others, from Agba Quarters,Emuhu, were arrested.
According to him, the exhibits are in custody and investigation is ongoing.
To this end, the Police Commissioner commended the team for the successful operation and assures all residents that the Command will not relent in the fight against crime and criminality.
He noted that proactive policing and community police is key in the fight.
