About four thousand raps of illicit drugs worth ten million naira was today destroyed by officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command.

The destroyed drugs was intercepted in April at Mile Two by operatives of the command’s Rapid Response Squad, at the Ewu Elepe dumpsite in the Ikorodu area of the state.

Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Ahmed Kontagora who led the team said the destruction followed a court order.

He added that three suspects were also arrested in connection with the seizure.

The police boss assured that the destruction is going to be a continuous exercise, adding that there is not going to be any hiding place for criminals in the state.

The exercise was witnessed by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control and other relevant agencies.
