Members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, CRAN, have elected new executive officials that will drive the affairs of the Association for the next three years.

The members turned out in large number at the Association’s Mike Okiro Press Centre, Oduduwa, Ikeja Lagos despite the heavy downpour from their various media organisations to elect a new executive members.
The elected officials, are Olalekan Olabulo of The Tribune Newspaper as President, Evelyn Usman of Vanguard Newspaper as Vice President and Chiemelie Ezeobi of This Day Newspaper as Treasurer, Adeniran Odufayo of the Radio Nigeria as General Secretary.
Other elected officials are Adaobi Obiechina of the Nigerian Television Authourity as Assistant Secretary, Taiwo Jimoh of New Telegraph Newspaper as the Public Relations Officer/Auditor while Ismaila Oguntade of Leadership Newspaper as Financial Secretary.
They were sworn in by a legal Practitioner, Barrister Yinka Sanni who admonished them to at all time uphold and defend the Constitution of the Association and perform their duties with integrity.
The immediate past president Sunday Odita admonished the new executives to ensure the welfare of members is paramount in their agenda.
In his presidential remark, the new President Olalekan Olabulo assured members that he will not disappoint them, urging every member to join hands with the new exco in its quest at moving the association forward.
He said wiith the election, CRAN was able to test the effectiveness of its internal democracy mechanism and to the glory of God, it was successful.
According to him, there were no winners and no losers, saying he believed that all camps and groups have been disbanded were now back together as one dependable team.
The President assured all that nobody will be victimised or sidelined in the scheme of things in the association.
