Officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authourity, LASTMA must at all times ensure decorum and civility while discharging their duties on the road and in public domain.
The plea followed a video trending online where a LASTMA officer Alabi Olanipekun was seen to have assaulted an alleged traffic offender within the yard at Ilasan, who Alabi said he wanted to prevent from making a video.
Its General Manager, Bolaji Oreagba at a meeting with the complainant, Edenze Uchenna in his office assured him that the officer would face disciplinary action as enshrined in the extant rules and regulations of the civil service.
He said necessary punishment will be applied according to the provisions of the law.
Oreagba admonished the officers that henceforth, anyone found to have acted unprofessionally in the discharge of his duties would have himself to blame, because such action negates the training and retraining invested in them by government.
The General Manager enjoined the road users to always abide by the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law as enacted by the Lagos State House of Assembly so they can all together move the State forward to a greater height.
The Complainant, Edenze thanked the Governor, the General Manager for the actions taken so far.
His statement is contained in a statement by Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Filade Olumide.
