There is no competition between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, but rather a stronger relationship would be needed between both services.

According to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, it is time to boost the security architecture of the State, in a bid to fight common crimes and criminals in the society.

Alabi disclosed this when he visited Lagos State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Commandant Eweka Okoro, today, in his office, at the NSCDC, Head Quarters, Alausa, Ikeja.

He said his visit to the Commandant was meant to familiarise himself and the members of his management team and to further strengthen the synergetic relationship between the two services in the state.

Commandant Okoro, in his response, seized the opportunity of the visit, to firstly, commiserate with the Nigeria Police Force over the demise of Deputy Inspector-General of Police Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike, DIG in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department(FCID).
He commended, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, for the new impetus and morale he brought, in to the state to combat crimes and criminality.
Okoro commended the CP, for the administrative and intelligent mannerism, he has been using to handle several cases, since his resumption in the state and promised to work assiduously with him to succeed.
It is also imperative to note, that the Commissioner of Police, had on his entourage, members of his management team, which include; Deputy Commissioner of Police( DCP ) Ahmed Kontagora Operations, DCP Bassey Ewah Finance and Administration), Chief Superintendent of Police Adekunle Ajisebutu ( Police Public Relations Officer) and others.
However, Commandant Eweka Okoro also received the CP, into the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Headquarters, with the following members of his management team; Deputy Commandant of Corps(DCC) Obinma Frederick(2ic of the Command), DCC Jimoh Sulaiman(Head of Operations Department), DCC Akinremi Ajose(Head of Intelligence and Investigation Department), Assistant Commandant of Corps(ACC) Aiyegbusi Opeyemi Motunrayo (2ic Administration Department) and Assistant Superintendent of Corps I(ASCI) Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide( Civil Defence Public Relations Officer).
Finally, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Police have a robust synergy in the state and the duo Strategic Commanders believed that this visit will further boost the collaborative efforts of the services to eradicate crimes in Lagos State.
