Officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command have been warned against smearing the hard-earned reputation of the Commissioner of Police by their unprofessional conducts.

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, gave the warning while addressing Heads of Departments and Sectional Heads in the Department of Finance and Administration at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

Concerned about rights of citizens, he further warned Heads of Investigation Sections against over detention of suspects in their custody, and that they must dispense with criminal cases speedily.

Similarly, he warned administrative office personnel and others to always manage information effectively and be guided by the oath of secrecy when handling official correspondence and other matters.

In what seemed a piece of fatherly advice, Alabi admonished the personnel not to work at cross purposes but to ensure inter-departmental and inter-sectional harmony.

This is contained in a news statement made available by Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police, Adekunle Ajisebutu.
