A civil society organisation, Centre for Social and Economic Rights, has condemned the gruesome murder of Ahmed Gulak in Owerri Imo state by yet to be identified assailants.

Its Executive Director, Nelson Ekujumi, expressed shock, pains and sadness over the unfortunate incident which he described as the handiwork of agents of darkness who are determined to imperile the peace, progress and unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

While condemning the assassination in very strong terms, he admonished the security agencies to immediately rise to the occasion to do all within their powers to fish out the perpetrators to face the law for this heinous crime against God and humanity.

He also used the period of grief and mourning to caution groups and persons not to rush to judgement with inciting statements over the reasons or person’s responsible for this act of criminality, but to allow the security agencies to do their job in fishing out the murderers and their sponsors to face the wrath of the law.

According to him, “Our deepest condolences goes to the family, friends and associates of the deceased politician and the good people of Adamawa state over this irreparable loss”, just as it prayed that the Almighty should grant Ahmed Gulak soul, eternal rest.
