Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested members of a money ritual syndicate who abducted, killed and mutilated the body of a 39-year-old woman while on her way back from a farm at Obiarukwu in Ukwani council area.

The prime suspect in the murder of Joy Osameze, identified as Emmanuel Ejibe, who is said to be the nephew of the deceased, supposedly masterminded the crime and led other gang members to lay an ambush for her while returning from Abraka Farm Reserve.

Osameze was reportedly ambushed and taken to an isolated part of the bush, murdered in cold blood and her body parts severed purportedly for money rituals, with her other remains buried.

The operatives attached to the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad (SAKCCS) set up by Commissioner of Police Ari Muhammed Ali discovered the corpse while acting on a tip-off from the investigations conducted on the suspects arrested.

Preliminary investigations revealed that five suspects – Emmanuel Ojibe, 18, Osam Ogolime, 21, Ossai Reuben, 22, Odigili Chukwutem, 33, and Ukpaka Confidence, 20 – had earlier been arrested for the sudden disappearance of the deceased.

Speaking on how the body of Osameze was recovered, the police commissioner said it was based on the confession of one of the suspects that led to the arrest of other members.
Other members, according to him, are Razaq Ifamaye, 28, and Gbenga Olawuyi, 50 both natives of Ekiti State and one Samson Oduni, 31, all residents of Obiarukwu.
Ali stated that Ifamaye, confessed and led operatives to Shegelo Beach, Obiaruku on March 9, where a Baco bag containing a human skull and other human parts suspected to be that of the victim was recovered.
‘One Chikogwu Isaac, alias Ikukwu, aged 38 years, a native of Obiaruku, whose premises the exhibit was found, instigated four others who are now at large to attack the operatives in order to prevent the operatives from making the recovery.
‘He was, however, arrested and the human remains were taken to the Agbor General Hospital for autopsy while Investigations still continued in the case.
‘We have not closed the matter yet as we are still convinced that the syndicate have their members in other communities and we are hopeful of getting more information from them,’ Commissioner Ali stated.
Also Police Patrol team from the “A” Division arrested three suspects with about 50 wraps and two other unwrapped stones of illicit drugs suspected to be cocaine.
The names of the suspects to include, Monday Ofomukoro, Prince Akpojaro and Godday Doutimiareye.
The suspects were arrested by the Police during a raid of black spots at McCaiver Street in Warri on the 12/3/2021.
One of the suspects, Monday Ofomukoro confessed to have been dealing on the sale of such substance for some years now.”
The case is under investigation.

On the 12/3/2021 Patrol team from ‘A’ Division Warri, raided black spots at Macaver street, in course of the raid, three suspects, one Monday Ofomukoro ‘m’ Prince Akpojaro ‘m’ Godday Doutimiareye ‘m’ were arrested with about 50 wraps and two other unwrapped stones of illicit drugs suspected to be cocaine.
One of the suspect Monday Ofomukoro confessed to have been dealing on the sale of such substance for some years now. Case is under investigation.
On the 12/3/2021, at about 0030hours, Patrol team from ‘A’ Division Warri raided black spot at Panapina by NPA in Warri, during the raid, a suspected cultist, one Ebi Anda ‘m’ was arrested with some quantity of weed suspected to be Indian hemp in about three medium size nylon bag compartments, and about fifty pieces of razler wrap, one battle axe, two daggers.
He is currently been investigated and will be charged to court as soon as possible.
On the 12/03/2021 at about 1530hrs Men of ‘A’ division Warri working on intelligence gathering, arrested one Gbobobo Obaro (m) who was caught in the act while snatching phones of two supposed passengers around Morogun axis, The patrol team gave him a hot chase and he was arrested at Effurun roundabout, two android phones recovered from him on interrogation, his confession led to the arrest of the receiver one Sani Amadu (m) of Igbudu market both suspects are currently been investigated.
The command is doing everything possible to demobilize operational network of these cartels.

Information got to Abraka Police station, that at about 1450hrs of date, that two decomposing corpse of children was sighted in a Honda Rover car with reg no AG 815 BKW parked at the path way of the house of one Eniku Aghogho Tayo ‘m’ age 35yrs, but resides in Warri, he happens to be the owner of the said vehicle, The Divisional Police Officer CSP Aliyu Shaba led police operatives to the scene immediately.
Evacuated the corpse, investigation revealed that the corpse as Kelvin izakpa ‘m’ aged 10yrs and Fega Izakpa ‘m’ aged 7yrs, both children of late Meshach Izakpa, they were staying with their mother before their disappearance.
The decomposing Corpse have been handed to the family for burial while the suspect Eniku Aghogho Tayo has been arrested, and the said vehicle impounded, meanwhile investigation is ongoing.
