Your First On Your Mind Radio Station, EKO 89.7 FM has received the maiden Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN, merit award for excellent reportage of the institute’s activities.

According to the institute which brand itself as The Hub of Governance Professionals, the award was in recognition of the stations exemplary role in covering its activities.

The award was presented to Babajide Alli-Balogun by ICSAN President/Chairman of Governing Council, Bode Ayeku, at the institute’s forty-fourth Annual Conference Dinner and Luncheon.

Funmi Omoboriowo went home with ICSAN Special Media Dedication Award, Rukayat Moisemhe Ikem, of News Agency of Nigeria, Channels Television were also recipients of the institute’s awards.


Ayeku urged the media awardees to see the awards as a reward for diligent, prompt and apt reportage of the institute’s efforts at promoting good corporate governance principles, ethics and practices.

According to him, the governing council of the institute, two years ago, decided to reward media persons for their support at reporting all of its activities, which is why the institute began the journey of the inaugural media award and hope to continue in this stead henceforth to reward media partners.

He congratulated the awardees for their great coverage and reportage of all activities and hope they strive to do better in the future.

ICSAN confered honorary fellowship on two distinguished Nigerians such as Dr Christopher Kolade, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Pan-Atlantic University and Oscar Onyema, Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Stock Exchange, for the numerous contributions to the economy and nation building.

Also, Nornah Awoh, Chief Equity Analyst, Palesa Capital Markets Associates Limited received individual personal awards in excellence.
