Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba today highlight the recent achievements made by the Command in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other forms of crime and criminality.
ARREST OF NOTORIOUS BANDITS/ARMED ROBBERS/KIDNAPPERS/CATTLE RUSTLERS AND RECOVERY OF ONE AK 47 RIFLE:
On 17/11/2020 at about 07:00hrs, based on credible intelligence, DPO Safana and team in collaboration with repentant bandits, succeeded in arresting one Tukur Abu, ‘M’, aged 30yrs, and Dahiru Lawal, ‘M’, aged 30yrs both of Muniya village, Safana LGA of Katsina state, notorious bandits, armed robbers, kidnappers and cattle rustlers, hibernating at Illella forest but terrorizing Safana and Batsari LGAs of Katsina state.
In the course of investigation, one AK 47 rifle was recovered in their possession.
Suspects confessed to several banditry attacks on villages in Safana and Batsari LGAs of Katsina state leading to armed robbery, kidnappings and cattle rustling.

BUSTING OF A NOTORIOUS SYNDICATE OF ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE THAT SPECIALIZES IN KILLING OKADA RIDERS AND SNATCHING OF THEIR MOTORCYCLES IN KATSINA: On 16/11/2020 at about 20:00hrs, the Command succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of armed robbers who specialize in attacking Okada riders and snatching of their motorcycles.
Nemesis caught up with (1) Surajo Lawai, ‘M’, of Kofar Guga Quarters, Katsina (2) Hamisu Samaila alias ‘ABU KWALWA’, ‘m’, aged 20yrs, (3) Habila Abubakar alias ‘EBELE’, ‘M’, aged 25yrs, all of Sabon Gida Quarters, Katsina when they were arrested in connection with a case of Shop breaking and theft.
In the course of investigation, suspects confessed that on 14/11/2020 at about 23:00hrs, they conspired and attacked a motorcyclist, one Yusuf Isiya, ‘M’, of Farin Yaro Quarters, Katsina, along Ring Road, Katsina by Bugaje exit with dangerous weapons, killed the rider and made away with his Hero motorcycle, valued one hundred and fifty thousand (N150,000:00K).
Furthermore, suspects confessed that one Anas Gagare, ‘M’, aged 25yrs and Danfakal, ‘M’, aged 26yrs of Jibia, their cohorts (now at large) have disposed the said motorcycle at Maradi, Niger Republic.

SMASHING OF NOTORIOS SYNDICATE OF THIEVES THAT SPECIALIZES IN THEFT OF TRICYCLES AND MOTORCYCLES IN KATSINA: On 09/11/2020 at about 14:00hrs, based on a tip off, DPO Central Police Station, Katsina succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of tricycles and motorcycles thieves terrorizing Katsina metropolitan area and its environs.
The facts of the case was that on 09/11/2020 one Hamisu Nagogo, m, of Kofar Kaura Quarters, Katsina reported at the CPS, Katsina that his Tricycle with registration No. 321 VE, valued N660,000:00k was stolen from their house in the night but one Abdulkarim Mukhtar, m, aged 26yrs of Danhako Quarters was seen that night pushing the said tricycle.
In the course of investigation, suspect was traced and arrested.
He confessed to have conspired and stole the tricycle with one Auwal Abdulrashid, ‘M’, aged 23yrs of the same address and took it to one Babangida Mohammed, alias ‘BB’, ‘M’, aged 31yrs of the same address, an ex-convict and a habitual criminal, that specializes in theft of tricycles and motorcycles in Katsina.
Several incriminating items were recovered in his house during police search, which include two booklets of forged receipt bearing Abdulmumini Yandaki Trading Company and Makudawa Motorcycles, a forged stamp pad, two master keys, and other parts of motorcycles.
Similarly, during the raid, one Hussaini Rabi’u, ‘M’, aged 18yrs of Zango LGA of Katsina state was also arrested in the house of the said ex-convict ‘BB’, in possession of one Royal Honda Motorcycle.
He confessed to have conspired with one Danmallam, m, (now at large) and stole it from Maradi in Niger Republic.

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS THIEF, AN EX-CONVICT AND HABITUAL CRIMINAL WHO SPECIALIZES IN THEFT OF MOTORCYCLES: On 27/10/2020 at about 12:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Buhari Dalhatu, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Turaruka Quarters, Katsina, a habitual criminal and an ex-convict (with three records of conviction).
He was arrested at the premises of General Hospital, Katsina, where he was identified by one of his victims, Bishir Sani, ‘m’, of Rafin Dadi Quarters, Katsina, as the thief that stole his motorcycle.
In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to have stolen the said motorcycle Deolim City Plus, Robber-Robber, valued N95,000:00K on 25/10/2020 at the hospital premises which he sold out to one Attle of Jibia Town (now at large) at the cost of N45,000:00K.
Furthermore, he confessed to have stolen one Jincheng Robber Motorcycle belonging to one Turare Amadu, of Katsina, valued N185,000:00K.
Several sets of Jeans trousers and shirts as well as Caftan dresses, one new set of Maxi Generator, one set of Marks and Spencer Desktop computer, cash the sum of ninety-five thousand and thirty-five naira (N95035:00K) were among the exhibits recovered in his possession during police search.

ARREST OF NINE (9) SERIAL RAPISTS WHO RAPED A 14YR OLD GIRL: On 06/11/2020 the Command succeeded in arresting nine (9) serial rapists that raped a 13yrs old girl.
The facts of the case was that on 06/11/2020 at about 14:20hrs, one Mu’azu Yakubu, m, aged 40yrs of Kwadage village, Mai’adua LGA of Katsina state reported at Mai’adua Division that at different dates and time the following persons:
Ya’u Miko, m, aged 40yrs
Ta;ade Nati, m, aged 35yrs
Saminu Hashimu, m, aged 25yrs
Mannir Yunusa, m, aged 35yrs
Danladi Idi, m, aged 30yrs
Rabi’u Abdu, m, 40yrs
Burhani Malam Sanda, m, aged 30yrs
Isiya Yunusa, m, aged 30yrs
Musa Haru, m, aged 60yrs, all of Kwadage village, Mai’adua LGA of Katsina state, lured his daughter one Auwa Mato, ‘f’, aged 14yrs of the same address, and had an unlawful carnal knowledge her.
In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offence.
Victims were taken to Comprehensive health Center Maiadua for medical examination which shows that suspect Shafi’u Mamman and the victim Auwa Mato have tested positive to H.I.V.

ARREST OF INDIAN HEMP DEALER AND RECOVERY OF LARGE QUANTITY OF DRIED LEAVES SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP: On 13/11/2020 at about 2330hrs, Police Patrol team, attached to Dandume Division, acting on a tip off, succeeded in arresting one Isiya Lawal, ‘m’, aged 24yrs of Makama Road, Dandume LGA of Katsina state in possession of one hundred and ninety five (195) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
In the course of investigation suspect confessed to commission of the offence and mentioned one Muntari alias ‘DAN RUMA’, ‘m’, of Tudun Ali, Dandume LGA of Katsina state (now at large) to be the supplier of the said Indian hemp.
