To follow up on his promises of providing a primary health center, a lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo constituency one in the house of representatives, Honourable Bashiru Dawodu today laid the foundation for the construction of the primary health center in mafoluku area of Oshodi.

The project according to Doctor Dawodu is a fulfilment of his electioneering campaign to residents of Oshodi/isolo as it is a way of giving back to the society.

He says the primary health center which would gulp about one hundred million or more when completed would provide qualitative and affordable healthcare services to residents.

Residents acknowledged that this project will serve the community, as this is one of the infrastructure they have been yearning for

While answering questions, Doctor Dawodu made it clear that there is no cure yet for COVID-19 and that personal hygiene with hand washing with soap and social distancing are still the best of the efforts of avoiding the contacting of the virus.

Dawodu gave a vivid explanation of what is Covid-19 and that it has always been in different strains, saying that formal strains of it is known as SARS – Serious Anti respiratory Syndrome, and that Covid-19 is part of the strains discovered in China in 2019 that is now pandemic.

He strongly admonished that since Covid-19 has no curative vaccine for now, preventive measures remain the only hope.

In his word, the five Principal Things; to do to prevent the contamination and spread of Covid-19 include 1. Washing of Hands with Soap very often. 2. Cover your Cough and cough onto your elbow. 3 Do Not Touch your face, mouth, nose and eyes with your hands 4. Keep Space Distance from others always. 5. Stay at Home – if you can.

Honourable Dawodu categorically stated that Alcoholic beverages do not cure Covid-19, that taking alcohol constantly may weaking somebody’s immune system and make him more likely to contaminate with the virus.

He further enjoined the residents of the Local Government to know that the pandemic covid-19 is real which can be tamed collectively when we all imbibe the norm of constant personal hygiene with the washing of hands regularly

The Federal House Lawmaker recalled his personal efforts to fight against the Covid-19 and the cushioning of its negative effects on the members of his constituency.

He said he had held enlightenment and sensitization of the masses on Covid-19 which was coupled with distribution of free alcohol based sanitizers, also rolled out financial helps to some members of the constituency who had previously requested for financial assistance to over one hundred people.
