It is imperative for Post Primary School teachers in Lagos State to invest in themselves to inversely teach and train students, their parents, to creating an improved learning outcome at this unexpected and unanticipated period.

According to Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, teachers must be proactive, be prepared and should not solely lean on government for training, considering this situation that has forced all to a new normal.

She spoke at the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Webinar tagged ‘’Performance Series 3.2’’.

She said, ‘’ with this challenge, you must think it through on how best to go, be proactive, be prepared in improving learning and get the best out of yourselves’’.

The Governor’s wife revealed that any individual that can effectively make judicious use of the mobile phone device, can use the Virtual/Zoom application, adding that teachers, parents/guardian and indeed the students must lean and know how best to use this application’’.

She sees the teaching profession as a ‘’calling’’ and likened teachers to the ‘’angels’’ that performs the act.
‘’Students learn so fast and as teachers, you must ‘’up your game’’ and always be a step ahead in teaching and learning, thereby creating the desired enabling environment to thrive’’, she avowed.

The Chairman, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, (TESCOM), Elizabeth Ariyo in her words, expressed the appreciation of the Commission and the over 15,000 Post- Primary School Teachers in Lagos State to the First Lady for ‘’answering your students’ call’’.

In her words, ‘’ we want our teachers to interact with notable personalities outside the teaching profession to be able to learn, unlearn and relearn, while leveraging and improving on the ‘’new normal’’ to actualise the dream of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu in taking Education to greater heights in Lagos State’.

The Webinar Series 3.2 had Mrs. Ayopeju Njideaka, MD, Nurture House Consulting, Abiodun Atobatele, MD/CEO, ATB Techsoft Solutions Ltd, who spoke respectively on Leveraging Technology to Teaching Realities and Virtual Presentation Skills with 4840 attendees.
