Police in Lagos State have arrested a 40-year-old woman, Mojisola Awe for allegedly beating a tricyclist and unleashing her dogs on him over money issues.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday evening at Santa Maria Street, off Isuti road in Egan, Igando.
Awe with her son allegedly descended on the victim identified as Muhammed Abdulhammed, 33, over delays by the tricyclist to remit N3,500 daily returns.
According to sources, while they were assaulting the man, Awe’s son, who has since absconded, allegedly unleashed his two giant dogs on Abdulhammed, a sight that prompted onlookers to intervene.
Not satisfied with assaulting the victim, the woman, it was gathered, went to Igando Police Station to report a case against Abdulhammed, claiming that the tricyclist assaulted and injured her face.
Unfortunately for her, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Taiwo Kashumu, a lawyer, requested to interview the parties and in the process, discovered the woman was actually the suspect.
The DPO who noticed visible injuries on the face of the tricyclist, warned the woman to stop abusing her authority, noting that it was wrong for her to have breached the law and yet wanted to frame the victim.
“The woman was at first the complainant because she arrived police station earlier but upon a confrontational interview with the DPO, she turned to suspect.
She claimed the man injured her mouth but the DPO then told her to open it, there was no wound.
“It’s a case of assault occassioning harm.
The woman coordinates tricycle daily remittance. The man delayed in remitting for Monday and so, the woman and her son took laws into their hands.
They were both given medical forms to take to the hospital for check up.
“The woman is in the habit of using her son to intimidate or assault the tricycle operators should there be a breach.
“The son was alleged to be holding a daga and he owns two giant dogs which he let loose to harass the man before neighbours called in a routine police patrol team,” said a source who hinted on the incident.
Asked whether the suspect was detained, the source said no that she was released to her husband same Monday after serious warning from the DPO who threatened to prosecute her should such an incident reoccur.
