Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede, was at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to further discussions on the Nigeria Visa policy 2020 operationalisation at the missions abroad.

The Strategic meeting with the top management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had the Minister of State Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Permanent Secretary Ambassador Mustapha Lawal and Directors in the ministry in attendance to deepen discussions on the principle guiding Visa Issuance and processes, Reciprocal Considerations among others, the need for considerable effort to improve relationships between the Diplomatic Communities and Nigeria in view of policies of government as it affects Immigration and Diplomacy.

Babandede stated in his address that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is key to the success of the implementation of the Nigeria Visa policy 2020 in order to effectively provide “One global System” of Visa regime that will take care of the concerns of Nigerians and the Prosperity of the nation.

Minister of State, while alluding to the need to consider best Diplomatic way of ending visa issues and that reciprocal gesture will always be taken where and when necessary where Nigerians are treated otherwise, he congratulated the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service for embarking on this laudable project that will reap – in economic growth, social development and investment to the Country via the 79 classes of Visa design to cater for all classes of Migrants coming to Nigeria.

Permanent Secretary Ambassador Mustapha Lawal thanked Babandede for the expository address that captured areas that have direct bearing with the Ministry and its officials on mission outside Nigeria and assured of a robust collaboration on issues raised that need to be streamlined.
