Lagos State Police Command has described as fake news, information making the rounds on social media that it plans a general raiding on Thursday and Friday night from 8pm.
While urging members of the public to disregard the news, the command said the information is not only false but mischievous and calculated towards creating fear on the minds of the people.
It also implored residents to avoid the temptation of forwarding such mischievous message.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, the command was totally committed towards providing safe and secured environment for Lagosians to enjoy more of the night life provided by the State.
Elkana, a DSP said the Command had emplaced round the clock security across the State.
It reads, ” Disregard rumours of General raiding across Lagos State, it is fake news.Attention of Lagos State Police Command is drawn to a message making the rounds on social media of a planned General Raiding by the Police on Thursday and Friday night from 8pm throughout Lagos state.
The information is not only false but mischievous, calculated towards creating fear on the minds of the people.
Lagosians are enjoined to disregard the message and treat it as fake news. Avoid the temptation of forwarding such mischievous message.
