Lagos State Sector Command, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, is restrategising to reduce auto crashes to the barest minimum along various corridors of the state.
Its Sector Commander, Hyginus Omeje, unveiled the move in his opening remarks at the Mid-Year Strategic Retreat organised for officers in the command.
Omeje said the retreat, with the theme: ”Enhancing Road Safety Activities and Service Delivery Through Public Education and Asset Management”, was meant to discover the progress made so far and restrategise for better service delivery.
”This mid-year retreat session is meant to discover the progress made so far about our goals and objectives, at the same time set for ourselves a benchmark to know the rate of our progress.
”The benchmark we set for ourselves will show if we are making progress or not, so that we can restrategise and change the tune and patterns for road safety.
”Our unit commanders are here to tell us what they have been doing and progress made so far at their various stations,” he said.
According to him, there are narratives the command needs to change for better performance at various units.
Zonal Commanding Officer in Charge of both Ogun and Lagos, Samuel Obayemi, in his keynote address, urged the officers to continue their effective service delivery, to curb the menace of crashes on the road.
Obayemi, who was represented by Zonal Head of Operations, Deputy Corps Commander, Anthony Dauda, also advised the officers to improve on their various methods of operation in line with the corps’ strategic goals and objectives.
