Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has lauded the leadership and members of the National Assembly, for the passage of the Police Trust Fund Bill.
According to Adamu, when the Bill is signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, the challenges of inadequate equipment, poor infrastructure, inadequate training and other issues would be addressed.
He expressed hope that, with the passage of the Bill and the eventual signing into law by the President, the federal government would be laying a solid foundation for the future of an effective and efficient structure for policing the Country.
The Police Chief also said the passage was timely, as concerted efforts were being made at all levels to overcome issues of armed banditry, kidnapping and other heinous crimes across the country.
Adamu said the passage was apt as the force was making concerted efforts to overcome issues such as armed banditry, kidnapping and other heinous crimes, which were on the rise across the country.
He also extended his appreciation to other stakeholders for their support for the passage of the bill, especially, listing them as the Civil Society Organisations, Human Rights groups, NGOs, the media and the traditional rulers Council of Nigeria and a host of others.
