Kogi State Police Commissioner, Ali Janga is expected to take over the Imo state command following directives by the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim.

Dasuki Galadanchi the Imo state Commissioner of Police has been removed and transferred to Bauchi state ahead of the twenty-nineteen general elections.

Galadanchi was removed alongside three Deputy Commissioner of Police and eleven Assistant commissioner of Police In the command.

Confirming this development, Police Spokesperson, Orlando Ikeokwu said the Command was expecting Janga from Kogi state to take over from the outgoing Commissioner of Police.

Ikeokwu maintained that transfer is not out of place or has any political undertone as rumoured he says it is the routine activity in the Nigerian Police force especially as elections draw closer.

He urged all Imo citizens to continue with their lawful duties and avoid any action that might cause chaos in the state especially during this Yuletide.

Hakeem Odumosu, assumed office as the new Edo Commissioner of Police, takes over from Johnson Kokumo who is leaving for a development course to further his career at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies.

Speaking shortly after taking over the command, Odumosu assured residents of the state of an improved security during his tenure, saying his tenure would make the state hot for criminals as well as ensure that residents have unrestricted access to top management of the police command.

He also said he would ensure that the command does the needful in tandem with the laws of the country as well as protect the fundamental rights of the people, saying he would take-over from where his predecessor stopped and also consolidate on his achievements.

Earlier, Kokumo said the state has 55 Divisions and 10 Area Commands, saying the state command was blessed with officers with the finest set of management team to work with.

He added that the state was relevant to the entire nation, and urged the people to give maximum cooperation to the new CP.
