About five thousand additional modern buses will be provided for ease transportation in Lagos State.

According to Lagos State Government, the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration is ensuring all Lagosians have access to a proper and efficient public transport system compared to anywhere in the world.

Its Ministry of Transportation, says apart from going a long way to ensuring transport activities are conducted in a safe and comfortable environment, the modern bus stops will also ensure free-flow of traffic as there will no longer be any disruption to vehicular movement.

Permanent Secretary, Taiwo Salaam who made the announcement, listed features of the bus stops to include a comfortable bus shelter, lay-by, lighting, walkways, guard-rails, wire-mesh fencing for pedestrian protection and passenger information system, among others.

Salaam said the project, which was conceptualised, designed and being constructed by an indigenous construction firm, Planet Projects Limited.

He said government would facilitate construction of over three hundred bus stops and lay-bys across the State in line with the goal of Governor Ambode’s administration to bequeath world-class transportation system to the State.
