Policemen attached to the Lagos State Task Force are undergoing a training programme on ‘Active Combating and Readiness.

The training programme organised by Lagos State Government which is in four batches commenced today and it will last one month at the Police Training School, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the state government, the training will help the officers to override natural inclinations, biases or reservation which they encounter while performing their duty.

Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for supporting security personnel with modernised equipment and relevant training programme.

According to him, the very nature of policing required officers to interact with the general public, and they should have problem-solving skills, while being polite and professional at the same time.

Chairman, Lagos State Task Force, Chief Superintendent of Police, Olayinka Egbeyemi said since crime had become more complex, the officers charged with enforcement of laws must be opened to new and constantly evolving policing philosophies.
