Lagos State Police Command has arrested three of its personnel for gambling.

According to the command, the personnel were arrested at Opebi, Ikeja, after a video on social media showed them counting their wins.

Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti said the personnel were alleged to be counting bribes they collected and smoking.

Oti, a Superintendent of Police said based on the allegation, the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal ordered for their arrest, detention and trial.

According to him, preliminary investigation into the case showed that the men were not counting bribes received as alleged but coupons they collected from a game of gambling, Baba Ijebu, they played.

He said the men were currently facing disciplinary actions that could lead to reduction in rank or dismissal, saying it was wrong to engage in such distracting activity while on duty.
