There is no more hiding place for militants that might be regrouping in Lagos, its surrounding neigbours and other parts of the country.
According to Nigerian Air Force, which made this known, it would flush out regrouping militants in Lagos and the country as a whole, vowing not to give them a hiding place, just as it had done in the past.
According to the force, it had recruited seven thousand personnel in three years as one of the measure aimed at flushing out militants in Lagos and the country as a whole.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar said the whole essence was to ensure the country and its citizens were secure and able to go about their businesses without fear.
Abubakar said this while speaking with journalists, after the commissioning of some buildings for its personnel at zero, four, one Communications Depot, Shasha in Lagos.
He said the present administration had acquired new helicopters and aircraft to accomplish the aim of the Force, saying professionalism was not just about equipment and training but most importantly, about the human beings because human being was the most important resource.
According to him, the Force embarked on massive construction of new accommodation as well as re-modelling of old ones to address the infrastructural deficit of the past.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar said the Shasha Base, being one of the bases in the Lagos area, was critical to the successful conduct of the Force operations, saying it was, therefore, appropriate that such a base received commensurate provision of facilities for the general well-being of personnel and their families.
He appreciated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, for his continued support for the military, especially the Nigerian Air Force, through the provision of platforms and logistics support to operate them.
Earlier in his welcome address, Commander of Nigerian Air Force Base 041 Communications Depot in Shasha, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said the fact that another set of projects was being commissioned in Lagos, in quick succession, was a testimony to the dogged determination of Chief of Air Staff to rapidly develop infrastructure in the NAF with a view to improving personnel welfare and spurring them towards enhanced service delivery.
He said the newly inaugurated accommodation was designed to house a total of one hundred and twenty airmen and airwomen.
