Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has apprehended no fewer than 505 traffic offenders in Ogun during the 2018 Easter festivities.
Sector Commander, Clement Oladele said the traffic offenders reduced from 582 recorded in the same period in 2017 to the 505 arrested this year.
Oladele attributed the drop to massive campaigns and sensitisation by the FRSC, saying the offenders were arrested for not installing speed limit device, bad tyres and seat belt violations, among others.
“Following the just concluded Easter Patrol which lasted from March 28 to April 3, the FRSC recorded eight crashes in which 30 people were rescued, compared to seven crashes with 27 people rescued in 2017,” he said.
The sector commander said there was a significant increase in the number of people rescued without injury during the 2018 Easter special patrol.
He said the 2018 patrol was given a wider coverage than that of the Easter period in 2017.
