Federal Road Safety Corps, has arrested over 600 motorcyclists towards the end of 2017 for non compliance with the use of safety helmet.

Its Bauchi State Deputy Corps Commander, Paul Guar, said aside other offences like the number plate, lack of motorcycle papers, we arrested over 600 people for non usage of safety helmet.

Guar said helmet was a safety device to prevent injury in the event of an accident, especially injuries in the head, but there is almost zero compliance with it usage in the state.

The commander added that most motorcyclists don’t use safety helmets except those who operate within the Army barracks.
