Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana has since relocated his office to the North-East following the directive of the Honourable Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Abdulraman Danbazau over the abduction of the Dapchi school girls in Yobe state and the recent attacks by insurgent group within the North-East region.

Gana who immediately swung into action along with some of his management team moved to the troubled and turbulent states in the North-East in order to ensure proper deployment of the Corps personnel to schools and all other black spots to curtail future occurrence of the ugly incidence.

In his approach to tackling the ugly incidence in Yobe state, he charged his personnel to work in synergy with other security agencies in order to clamp down on the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

He stressed that in Borno, state the Corps personnel were adequately deployed to protect returnees to those liberated communities once ravaged by the insurgency in order to win the peace since the military have degraded the strong hold of the insurgent group.

Gana reassured Corps personnel of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and as such, advised them to be resolute, committed, loyal, dedicated and not to compromise their oath of secrecy in discharging their service to the Nation.

”I am in the field with you to reassure you that, if as your leader I can leave my office to be with you, then, the assignment at hand is a serious one and we must all do it together to salvage our nation by bringing to book the bad elements in our Nation” says Gana.

The Corps Chief Executive in his visit to Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States respectively charged the personnel to be involved in grassroot intelligence in order to be more proactive in their approach towards protecting the citizenry and national infrastructure rather than adopting the reactionary approach.

He therefore, raised the hope of the populace, the parents of the abducted girls and the various communities visited to believe and trust in the ability of the Federal Government and the various security Agencies in restoring peace, law and order, in the affected communities.

”Government is not resting and we are doing everything humanly possible to bring back the children alive and well, he noted.

He stressed that all the security agencies present in the North-East are working round the clock by exploring every avenue and more intelligent networking is on-going and in due course the efforts will yield the expected dividends, he concluded.
