The attention of the Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to a posting on the internet purporting that one Olaniyan Yemi, ( resident in Osogbo), a final year student of accounting at Osun State University, Okuku Campus, who came to Lagos to submit documents for his IT at an ICAN office in Lagos and thereafter slept at Ojodu Police Station, is missing. It was also mentioned in the posting that Olaniyan Yemi’s trip to Lagos was his first to the city.

The Command stated categorically that Olaniyan Yemi was never a guest at Ojodu Police Station as alleged, saying there’s no record to show that he was at any Police station in Lagos either as a visitor or a detainee. Besides, no Police station in Lagos operates as a guest house. It is not allowed.

Going forward, the Command advised the concerned family to report a case of missing person to the police so that the matter can be thoroughly investigated. For instance the detectives would want know which of the ICAN offices in Lagos the missing person went for the submission of his document because there’s no ICAN office close to Ojodu Police Station.

Secondly, it was stated in the write up that the missing student is a first time visitor to Lagos, the detectives would like to know if arrangement was made for him to contact anybody on arrival and so on. Please hurry up and report this matter to the police because time is of essence.

Olaitan Yemi, is a final year student of accounting department in the institution and is reportedly missing. He was reported missing after he travelled to lagos to submit some documents to ICAN office for his proposed Industrial attachment, but unfortunately for him, he finished the submission late.

Being his first time in lagos, he decided to drop by a police station to pass the night over, so that he could travel back to school(UniOsun, Okuku campus) the next morning.

The policemen requested for his name, Id card and some other documents so that he could be identified. Afterwards, he called one of his colleagues to inform him that he would be spending the night at the police station at Ojodu given his current predicament.

Meanwhile, Yemi has not been seen back at home or to his campus since the reported encounter with the police, while the police have allegedly denied seen anyone reported to have slept at the police station.

The students of the institution are in tension and are set to carryout a peaceful rally to inform the general public about their missing colleague.
